After graduating from the Armando Rever\u00f3n University Institute of Fine Art, Venezuela in 1996, I moved to London where I obtained my MA in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art and Design in 1997. My work is represented by the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.coleccioncisneros.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colecci\u00f3n Patricia Phelps de Cisneros<\/a> and has been exhibited widely, at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.squ-are.com\/future\/art-licks-x-va-\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">V&amp;A Museum<\/a>, London, the Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Caracas.<\/p>\n<p>My practice spans different media, including installation, video art, animation, digital images and sculpture. I am particularly interested in creating alternative realities or quasi-real realities that disturb\u00a0our relationship with landscape, spaces and our experience of the world.\u00a0In the series <a href=\"http:\/\/jorge-dominguez-dubuc.com\/?page_id=367\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Anecdotal Landscapes<\/em><\/a>, for instance, although the imaged landscape is barely believable as a document, it is still a conceivable possibility. In installations works such as <em><a href=\"http:\/\/jorge-dominguez-dubuc.com\/?page_id=97\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Encounter<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/jorge-dominguez-dubuc.com\/?page_id=144\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Monster of Reality<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and <em><a href=\"http:\/\/jorge-dominguez-dubuc.com\/?page_id=79\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Traslaci\u00f3n. Entornos miliarios<\/a><\/em>, the viewer is confronted with images and sounds designed to be &#8220;detonators&#8221; of personal narratives and memories.<\/p>\n<p>My most recent project was a feature-length documentary filmed in the Dominican Republic, which has been screened in the US, Canada, Latin America and Europe. <em>After Trujillo<\/em> is a journey through monuments, gardens and ruins, where the ghost of dictatorship live on.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.phil.uzh.ch\/elearning\/blog\/despues-de-trujillo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-539\" src=\"http:\/\/jorge-dominguez-dubuc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DDT_HOME-1024x552.jpg\" alt=\"DDT_HOME\" width=\"700\" height=\"377\" srcset=\"http:\/\/jorge-dominguez-dubuc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DDT_HOME-1024x552.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/jorge-dominguez-dubuc.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DDT_HOME-300x161.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>jorgedubuc@gmail.com +44 7715 986230 I am an artist living and working in London.
